rBST-Free Milk
Lochmead Farms and Dairy: Committed to rBST-Free Milk Since 1950
At Lochmead Farms, we’ve always believed in providing the best for our cows and our local communities. Since we opened our dairy farm in 1950, we’ve made it a priority to keep our milk as pure and natural as possible. That’s why we’ve always been, and will always be, rBST-free.
rBST, or recombinant bovine somatotropin, is a synthetic hormone sometimes used to boost milk production in dairy cows. However, at Lochmead Farms, we’ve never used rBST in our herd. From the beginning, we understood that healthy, happy cows produce the best milk. We’ve always preferred to focus on high-quality nutrition, in-house breeding of our herd, and a stress-free environment for our cows to thrive in naturally. This commitment has allowed us to produce milk and ice cream that is not only rich in flavor but free of artificial hormones.
Fast-forward to 2025, and this commitment remains stronger than ever. As we continue to evolve with the times, our values stay rooted in tradition. With over 75 years of experience in dairy farming, we understand that doing right by our cows and our customers means providing products you can trust. We’re proud of our rBST-free promise and will continue to uphold it as we look to the future. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of Lochmead milk, or savoring our ice cream or yogurt, you can always count on our commitment to purity, quality, and care.
