It’s Fall/Winter season which means it’s time to start the annual Harry Potter movie marathon. Level up your movie night with a Harry Potter-themed drink; homemade butter beer with Lochmead Whipping Cream. Is there anything more cozy or familiar than switching on a Harry Potter movie and cuddling up on the couch with friends/family/significant other? Add to the atmosphere with this super simple recipe and get in the wizarding mood! (PS The movie series is currently available streaming on Peacock).

What you’ll need:

  • Cute cup or mug to drink from
  • Straw
  • Hand Mixer or whisk
  • Bowl for mixing
  • Microwave

Ingredients:

  • Creme Soda (8oz) (we used Dr Pepper’s Creme Soda but any of your favorite Creme sodas will do)
  • Salted Butter (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Caramel or Butterscotch Syrup (1 tablespoon, or more if you want a stronger/sweeter flavor)
  • Lochmead Farms Whipping Cream (1 cup makes around 4 servings)
  • Sugar or sugar substitute (2-4 tablespoons depending on your sweetness preference. 3 is perfect for us here at Dari Mart testing HQ)

Directions:

  1. Add your butter and caramel/butterscotch to your drinking glass and microwave for 20-30 seconds. (Do this first so your glass can cool before adding your cold soda, if you’re too hasty your glass could crack).
  2. To a mixing bowl add your whipping cream and sugar/sugar substitute. Use a hand mixer or whisk until thick and fluffy with some peaking.
  3. Pour your soda into your glass but leave about an inch of room from the rim to add your whipped cream.
  4. Add 2-3 scoops of whipped cream on top of your soda, be careful of the fizziness. This isn’t a science experiment, you don’t want it to overflow.
  5. Drizzle some more caramel/butterscotch overtop and enjoy!
